Sandi Thom performs for NCL

Sandi Thom, (born 11 August 1981, Banff, Aberdeenshire) the Scottish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist performed for our New College Lanarkshire students. She was one of the first artists along with Arctic Monkeys a few months before to come to the mainstream thanks to the Internet. She became widely known in 2006 after a series of webcasts and the success of the UK number one single “I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair)”. Thom has released five studio albums: Smile… It Confuses People (2006), The Pink & The Lily (2008), Merchants and Thieves (2010) “Flesh And Blood” (2012) & “Covers Collection” (2013)

On Monday 10th November she delivered a guest lecture and participated in a Q&A session in the Motherwell Campus. In between she performed hits from her previous albums and was a great warm up before her performance at Glasgow’s Oran Mor.

She took part in a radio interview which will be broadcast later next week. (Check our facebook page for updates).
